The ceremony took place at Katlehong SAPS Barracks Hall on October 16.
The two officers are WO Malose Hlotse and WO Moalosi Morotolo.
Mdlankomo said the two dedicated police officers were assigned to work at Zonkizizwe Police Cells, as Katlehong Police Cells were undergoing renovations.
“The two police officers treated prisoners with dignity. As a result there were no complaints about bad treatment raised by prisoners ever since they were assigned to work at Zonkizizwe,” said Mdlankomo.
Thokozo station commander Col Reckson Shiburi also sang their praises.
“They are the most dedicated police officer I have ever worked with. They even workshopped with other officers from the neighbouring stations as to how to treat prisoners,” Shiburi said.
Management from Thokoza and Katlehong police stations were happy to see that during the two months, prisoners held by Thokoza SAPS didn’t raise any complaints.
