Old Age Home hall to host Miss Gay Kathorus

Miss Gay Kathorus beauty pageant will be held at the Vosloorus Old Age Home hall in Sotho Section on Saturday, September 23.

Mzwandile Damba, the founder and director of the pageant, said the pageant will be held in memory of Nathi Mkhabane who became the second princess during the 2015 edition of the competition.

“Others who passed on will be remembered as will gays and lesbians who never took part in any of the pageants.

“Cross-dressers from all over Kathorus area are invited,” said Damba.

He said people who would like to see the real beauty of the Kathorus area are invited to come in their numbers.

“There will be a lot of entertainment organised for them on the day.

“Cooler boxes will be allowed and no fees will be charged for bringing your cooler boxes to the venue. No bottles will be allowed,” Damba said.

Details of the pageant are as follows:

Date : 23 September

Venue : Vosloorus Old Age Home hall (Sotho Section)

Time : 3pm – 8pm

Damba said tickets will be sold at the gate on the day for R40 per adult while children under 12 will pay R20.

Mdamba says gays, lesbians and cross-dressers must not feel shy to express their feelings.

“We are living in a democratic country where same sex marriages are allowed. There is no need to feel embarrassed about showing your true feelings,” said Damba.
