Six suspects arrested in Katlehong

Katlehong SAPS members arrested six suspects on Monday, August 15 at different places in Katlehong.

The suspects were arrested for different offences.

Communications official at Katlehong SAPS Capt Mega Ndobe said the suspects were arrested during a stop-and-search operation conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit and Katlehong detectives.

“Suspects were arrested for the following crimes: common assault, possession of dagga and murder.

“Three of the suspects, including a woman (34) and two males aged 24 and 34, allegedly assaulted and murdered a man at Moleleki Extension Two on Sunday, August 6.

“It is alleged that the deceased was badly stabbed with a sharp object at about 4am on Sunday, August 6. He was taken to hospital, where he later died the following day due to a stab wound,” said Ndobe.

Ndobe said an investigation was conducted and led the detectives to the three suspects on Monday August 15.

He said all six suspects are expected to appear in Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon, according to their charges.
