Communication official at Katlehong police station, Capt Mega Ndobe, said a case of attempted murder was opened after a man shot the parents of his girlfriend.
“The man had a serious argument with his girlfriend which resulted in a man seriously assaulting his lover. Her parents went to intervene since the incident happened not too far away from the girl’s house,” said Ndobe.
Ndobe said the parents took their daughter inside her house for her own safety.
“A man rushed to his place, took out a gun and went straight to his girlfriend’s place. It is alleged that on arrival he shot the mother of his girlfriend in the head and the father in the leg,” said Ndobe.
He said he later went back to his house where he allegedly shot himself in the head.
“All three victims were taken to the hospital with an ambulance and were admitted,” said Ndobe.
He said a case of attempted murder and inquest has been opened for investigation.
