Cultural imbizo to be held in Germiston

The National Traditional Advisory Council (NTAC) will be hosting a one-day conference at the Germiston City Hall on August 11.

According to the organisation’s co-ordinator, Thembi Mtshali, members of the public are invited to attend the gathering, which will start at 8am.

Mtshali described the purpose of the conference as follows:

n To report about the progress made on the establishment of traditional structures, from

wards to provincial sectors.

n Recognition of traditional leaders.

n Challenges faced by traditional leadership.

n Working relationship with councillors and other local authorities.

“This conference is a follow-up to a previous gathering that NTAC held in March at the same Germiston City Hall where the establishment of traditional leadership hubs in urban areas was discussed,” explained Mtshali.

Mtshali said the NTAC was at the forefront of educating communities about the role of traditional leaders.

Interested members of the community who wish to attend the conference should contact Mtshali on 071 100 4257 or the organisation’s COO, Chief Apostle Dody Khumalo.
