Katlehong kitchen soup roll out continues
Katlehong SAPS, CPF and Youth Desk supplied soup to elderly people at their pension paypoint at Sontonga Mall in Katlehong on August 1.
Communication official at Katlehong SAPS, Capt Mega Ndobe, said the initiative started this year during winter and it will continue until the end of winter.
“The Katlehong SAPS realised that the elders wake up early while it is still cold in the morning to collect their grant money at the mall. We have decided to do something for them to make them feel warm while waiting in the queue for their grant money,” said Ndobe.
He said they gave bread and soup to the elders.
“The police made donations from their own pockets, bought bread and soup and then went straight to Sontonga Mall to give an early breakfast to elders,” said Ndobe.
