SAPS arrested a man for dealing in dagga

ON June 8, members of the Germiston Flying Squad , arrested a man (50) for dealing in dagga.

The arrest was made at about 8.15pm at Nguni Section in Vosloorus.

Communications official at Vosloorus Police Station, Capt Piet Rossouw, said the officers made the arrest while they were on night patrol.

“The police saw eight men standing in a group. When the police stopped to search them they found nothing. The police also found that the men were good members of the community,” said Rossouw.

He explained that one of the eight members whispered to the police and gave them the address of a nearby house where the dealing of dagga was taking place. He said the police followed the lead and discovered dagga weighing 0.494kg, which they confiscated. He added that a 50-year-old man was arrested and charged with dealing in dagga.The man appeared in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on June 12.

Rossouw thanked the community member who gave the police the information that led to the arrest of the dealer.
