Taxi driver shot dead

Vosloorus SAPS are investigating a murder which took place on Sunday, February 5.

The communications officer at Vosllorus SAPS, Capt. Piet Rossouw, said, “On Sunday, February 5 at about 7.30pm, Vosloorus SAPS were called to an accident scene next to the Ekurhuleni Municipality building in Bierman Road in Vosloorus.

“At the scene SAPS found a gold Toyota Conquest that had collided with the vendor stalls. The driver of the vehicle was found behind the steering wheel and was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.”

The deceased was identified by his family as Klaas Moahlodi (39) of Extension 9.

He was working as a taxi driver.

“On further investigation SAPS discovered that the deceased sustained two bullet wounds to the back of his body and one bullet wound in the left leg,” said Rossouw..

Rossouw said the SAPS believed that the deceased was shot somewhere else and then tried to use his vehicle to drive to the hospital but unfortunately didn’t make it.

Vosloorus SAPS are appealing to the community to help them solve this case.
