EMPD makes huge drug haul in Phumula

On Friday afternoon, May 20, the EMPD Kathorus Crime Prevention Task team acted on a tip-off about a drug dealer in Phumula Park Extension.

 

EPMD spokesperson Ltn Kobedi Mokheseng said, “Upon arrival at the house, Metro police found heroine, nyaope and dagga in the bedroom of the male owner of the place. The 36-year-old suspect was arrested and later led officers to his supplier who also resides in the area, where Metro police found a massive amount of dagga”.

The house raided first in Kutlangano Street was swooped upon at 1.30pm, where 10 ziplocks of heroine, 10 ziplocks of nyaope and 25kgm of dagga were found, with an estimated street value of R3 000. The supplier (44), who lives in Extension 2 in Kopanong Street, Phumula Exension 2, was found in possession of 100kg of dagga valued at R20,000.

Both suspects were charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances at Alberton police station and were to make their first court appearance at the Palm Ridge Court on Monday, 23 May.
