Twitter reacts to Concourt’s Nkandla ruling

Here are some people's Twitter reactions based on the Constitutional Court’s unanimous judgment on the Nkandla case.

The Constitutional Court delivered a ruling that President Jacob Zuma acted illegally when he failed to comply with the remedial action set by the public protector Thuli Madonsela.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng made the pronouncement stating that both Zuma and the National Assembly were in breach of their constitutional obligations after they failed to assist the public protector by complying with her report.

The Concourt ordered the National Treasury to report back to it on the amount to be paid by Zuma.

Madonsela’s 2014 report found that some of the features at Zuma’s Nkandla residence included in the R246-million security upgrade were not security features. Some of these features included a fire pool, cattle kraal, visitor’s centre and chicken run.
