The metro police stopped the vehicle and on searching it came across a laptop, a charger and an external modem belonging to an employee of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. The EMM barcode was still onto the back of the laptop. The laptop was positively identified as the one stolen from a vehicle in Birchleigh North at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 10. The case was registered at Norkem Park police station.
The three suspects, in their mid-30s, were charged at the Kempton Park police station for being in possession of stolen property and appeared at the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 March.
