‘Police captain still part of the team’ – SAPS

Following reports that a police captain quit on the team investigating Senzo Meyiwa's murder, the police have dismissed the allegations.

JOHANNESBURG – The police have dismissed reports that a captain investigating the Senzo Meyiwa murder case has quit, Eyewitness News (EWN) reported.

Following reports which stated that Captain Joyce Buthelezi made recommendations to a committee dealing with the case that everyone who was in the house on the day Meyiwa was killed should be charged with perjury and defeating the ends of justice.

According to a report by EWN, the police’s Solomon Makgale was quoted to have said, “There were specific tasks that she was given to do, like any other team member is given tasks.

“So she’s delivering on those tasks and she is still part of the team.”

The Bafana Bafana captain was shot and killed in October last year at the home of his girlfriend’s mother in Vosloorus.
