Grade 12 learners at Palmridge school go digital

Grade 12 learners of the Palmridge Combined School received 185 new tablets for the Gauteng Department of Education’s (GDE) paperless programme on Wednesday, August 5.

PALMRIDGE – Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi officially launched the rollout of the technology programme on Monday, August 4.

The launch was part of the MEC’s imbizo with matriculants at different schools explaining that the department’s commitment was to provide them with quality education and that learners must take good care of their tablets.

“We are happy about the tablets and for the paperless classroom programme. On behalf of the school SGB, educators and our community, I thank the MEC for his vision with this programme.

“For now I am responsible for the tablets but once handed over to the learners, the responsibility of safe keeping is with the parents and the learners.

“They must take good care of the tablets until the end of their schooling. We are now eagerly awaiting delivery of the smart boards to get into business,” said Hamrajh Singh, the headmaster.
