Eden Park teen killed in sibling shooting

His last words to his brother was “Ja, clever,” before he pulled the trigger and shot him.

EDEN PARK – Residents in Rolls Street, Eden Park were shocked by the cold blooded sibling shooting on Thursday, July 23.

The fratricide was committed when the 24-year-old brother, shot and instantly killed his 19-year-old sibling.

It is alleged by an eyewitness, who was with the deceased at the time of the shooting, and who asked not to be named, that the deceased was shot as they walked onto the premises where the brothers lived.

“We had just walked into the yard when the older brother came out of the front door and pointed a firearm at my friend. He said “Ja, clever,” then he fired a shot. That is when I ran away into the nearest house,” said the eyewitness.

The father of the two brothers was still in shock when Kathorus MAIL spoke to him. “This is a big shock to us. When I left the boys at home there was no fighting or argument. I don’t know where he got the gun from because he never possessed one.

“I don’t know what is happening to my sons. Two years ago their eldest brother was killed in Little Germiston and now this,” said the broken father.

After shooting his brother, the 24-year-old walked to the police station and handed himself over.

A murder docket was opened.
