Makro helps make a difference in Katlehong

One man has taken it upon himself to make a difference in the lives of children in Katlehong and recently received some assistance from Makro.

KATLEHONG – Isaac Magopi runs the Thuso Usizo Educational centre in Katlehong and, with the help of one volunteer, he offers extra lessons for English, Afrikaans, arts and culture and science to about 40 children.

With limited resources he struggles to give the children the assistance they need. As a result, Isaac recently approached Makro in Alberton for help.

“We decided that it would be a great start to provide the centre with stationery,” said Lindiwe Dlamini, marketing assistant at Makro Alberton.

“We handed over 40 stationery packs for the centre as a CSI initiative.”

Isaac tutors the children in a small room with a few tables and no chairs. The centre is still in dire need of assistance in terms of tables, chairs, storage racks and books.

If anyone can assist contact Lindiwe at Makro on 010 593 7322, who will ensure that the message gets through to Isaac.
