EFC recruits new players

Elspark Football Club (EFC) held trials for its u-12, u-13, u-15 and u-17 teams at Elspark Stadium on January 27.

Efnasi Ndlovu, the chairman of EFC, said 22 new players were recruited.

“Parents who read in Kathorus MAIL that we were conducting trials sent their children to try out for the teams,” said Ndlovu.

He said they recruited a number of players, but they still needed to beef up their u-12 team.

“The response was encouraging.

“Thanks to Kathorus MAIL for that.

“I would like to encourage parents not to be reluctant to send their children to trials.

“We have good facilities and educated head coaches,” Ndlovu said.

He said all their coaches have level three Safa coaching licences.

“On top of that, we have referees who are part of the committee.

“The advantage is that they educate coaches and players about the modern game of football.

“You will never hear any of our players questioning referees’ decisions,” Ndlovu explained.

He thanked parents for sending their children to trials.

“I would like to plead with them to support them, and they must also know who coaches their children.”

Ndlovu said he would like to win more cups across the age groups and to grow the teams this year.

“I would like parents to come to the stadium and support their children, even financially if need be.”

The Elspark FC u-11, u-13 and the senior teams play in the Eastern League, while the u-15 and u-17 teams play in the Safa Ekurhuleni League.
