Cosmos records first win in Vosloorus

The game kicked off at 3.30pm and Jomo Cosmos did not disappoint.

During the game Ezenkosi made their supporters happy by giving them the first win since Ezenkosi announced their return to Volsoorus Stadium.

Despite playing on the damaged pitch, Cosmos dominated the game from the first minute. They created a number of goal-scoring opportunities which they failed to turn into goals.

It came as no surprise when they took a lead 22 minutes after the game started. The goal was scored by Clifford Mulenga.

Five minutes after the start of the second half, Real Kings FC equalised with Steve Nzambe puting his name on the goal-scoring sheet.

Real Kings FC tried to come back as the goal boosted their morale, but Jomo Cosmos fans didn’t make things easy for them. Fans became the 12th player on the day – they sang and danced in support of their team.

Nine minutes before the game ended, Ezenkosi scored their second goal due to the lack of concentration from Real Kings FC defence.

That goal shattered the Real Kings’ dream of winning the game.

Jomo Sono (South African King of soccer) had this to say about the results of the game:

“I am excited about the results even though there were many things that worked against us – including the pitch condition and referees decisions. One of the linesmen took some decisions that worked against us. But my philosophy says that your silence must speak for you,” Sono told Kathorus MAIL.

After this game Ezenkosi edged closer to the log leaders. They are now four points behind them.

Sono spoke volumes about the support he receives from Vosloorus community.

“The next time we are going to play an away game, I would like you to attend the game in your numbers. There will be buses to take you to the game,” Sono told supporters after the game.

The next home game for Ezenkosi will be against Black Leopard on November 5 at 3pm.
