Jomo Cosmos returns to Vosloorus Stadium
On October 1, Jomo Sono the owner of Jomo Cosmos announced his club will return to use Vosloorus Stadium as the stadium where they will play all their home games.
Sono told Kathorus MAIL that their 2017-2018 NFD home league games will all be played at the above- mentioned stadium.
To show that Sono means business, Jomo Cosmos took their sixth league game against Uthongathi FC to Vosloorus where they played to a one-all draw.
Sono said Vosloorus is a home of Jomo Cosmos.
“This is where the team started in 1992. We won our league title on this very same ground,” said Sono.
Sono spoke highly about the pitch and the atmosphere at Vosloorus Stadium.
“One of the reasons we came back here is the pitch. It allows us to play beautiful brand football. We love the vibe at the stadium. People here love Jomo Cosmos,” said Sono.
He pleaded with the people from Vosloorus to come in their numbers to support their team in their home games.
“Our next home game is against Real Kings on October 22 at 3.30pm. I would like to plead with the community to come and support the team in their numbers as we would love to move to a better position on the log table and possibly win the NFD league title,” said Sono.
He said the support they got from the Vosloorus community some years ago cannot be compared with the support they got while playing on other grounds they used as their home.
Sono said they are planning to strengthen all their development structures and will have trials to recruit new players. The trails will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
