This incident happened between 7pm and 8pm.
Netcare911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said it’s believed unknown gunmen entered the store just before closing time in what is believed to have been an attempted robbery.
Exact details are not yet known but the gunmen opened fire in the store and left five people injured.
It is not known if anything was taken from the shop.
Mathe said Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside other emergency services on scene to stabilise those wounded.
“The person who is in a critical condition was airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital in the Netcare1 helicopter which is dispatched to life-threatening emergencies.
“The four who are in a serious to moderate condition were transported by ambulance to various hospitals across Johannesburg for further medical care,” she said.
Five people have been hospitalised after they sustained Gunshot wounds following an attempted robbery at a store in Vosloorus, Gauteng.
