Count down for Elkasico Easter Tourney

Elkasico Cup Sports Network (ECSN) is hosting another thrilling edition of the Elkasico Cup from April 7 to 10 at Vosloorus Stadium.
At least 16 clubs from various townships, including the hosts Vosloorus, Daveyton and Soweto, will be present at the fourth edition of the tournament.
Some of the participating clubs include Super 10, Iscathulo Sika Madam, Mswenko, Government, Via Vosloo, Killer Polokwane, Isithimela Sase Marimba, Overland, Peace Lovers, Ashes 2 Ashes, Ambassadors, Scorpion Academy, CF Astana, Mojo City and Rabbit Gang.
All teams affiliated with R2 500 compete in the tournament.
According to the co-founder, marketing and sponsorship coordinator of ECSN Kefentse Moagi, they partnered with Ikeja, 1 Voucher, Hollywood Bets, Clinix and Flash Mobile.
“Kathorus MAIL readers can expect a fun-field football weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday. A lot of these teams have so much talent to put on display. It is going to be fun and we are going to have a lot of entertainment,” said Moagi.
“The tournament is for senior divisions. They will conduct the draw on April 1. However, the venue will be confirmed with team reps. We will probably have one or two junior games. The entrance to the stadium is free throughout the four days.”
The co-founder and operations manager of ECSN, Thabiso Dubazana, noted the tournament was based on the premise of reviving the previous off-season kasi football in Vosloorus.
“People in Vosloorus love football and we saw an opportunity to serve the needs of the Kathorus diski fans,” said Dubazana.
Prizes
Champions will win a cash prize of R30 000 and kits. The second prize is an R10 000 cash prize and kits.
