Girls with Hope receives food and sanitary towels donations

Kathorus BMW Club recently concluded its charity drive for 2021 with donations to Eden Park-based NPO called Girls with Hope Foundation.

The club donated sanitary towels and food, including Jungle Oats, maize meal, noodles, sugar, instant porridge, cooking oil, baked beans, toilet papers, tea bags, powder milk and cake flour.

Beatrice Dortley, the founder of Girls with Hope Foundation, said the donation means that the foundation can now feed more children, give out food parcels to a few needy families and even donate sanitary pads to girls.

“We are going to start with our breakfast again because I believe we have enough breakfast food to feed our beneficiaries,” said Dortley.

The founder of Kathorus BMW Club, Simphiwe Mdaka, said their visit to Eden Park was the last charity drive for the year.

Donations were handed over to the Girls with Hope Foundation.

He said they only did 10 charity runs this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Next year, we plan to expand and have new branches in Thembisa and other parts of Gauteng as we already have members in these areas,” said Mdaka.

He said they will also be doing a charity event in Swaziland as they opened a new branch there in August.

He explained that this year was a success as they secured a few sponsors and partners.

Mdaka said they aim to have more partners and sponsors on board in 2022.
