Local thankful after receiving surplus funds

Eden Park resident, Aubrey Ndlovu, is grateful after receiving surplus claims with the help of a local.

It’s always a good idea to say thank you when someone lends you a hand at work or helps you with your UIF, RAF and surplus claims.

Not only will you be expressing your gratitude, but it will also help you maintain a strong professional relationship with that person, and that person is Tyrone Jacobs from Eden Park.

I went to Metal Industries Benefit Funds Administrators, Alexander Forbes and three other fund administrations to apply for my late wife’s provident and surplus money.

They checked on the system and the person who helped me said my late wife did qualify for surplus. She gave me forms to fill in and I gave her all the other documents they required from me, which was on February 23, 2015.

I went back again just after three weeks and they told me they made a mistake, and that my late wife didn’t have any money. I told them my wife had worked at Hart and Phillips for 31 years. Her cousin who was working with her had received her surplus money.

I was sent back and forth between the administrations. I went to a friend of mine in 2016, I explain to him what I went through and he told me about Jacobs.

The following day, I met Jacobs at a funeral in Riem Vasmaak. I spoke to him and he offered to help. After the funeral, he went with me to my house and I gave him all the papers of my late wife and copies of the Road Accident Fund as well the case number the same day.

He gave me forms to fill in and he took them.

On October 4, my son and I were sitting under a tree when I heard a beep on my phone. When I checked it was my surplus money that I was struggling to get out of the other fund administrations I was jumping and singing.
Jacobs, I really must express my gratitude for the help you freely gave me.

I realise how busy you are and know it took a lot of time to assist people. There are people who don’t have patience and they always have negative things to say. I was patient for five years for my surplus and today I am very, very happy. I owe you big time and percentage.

Jacobs, you are the sort of family friend that anyone would love. May God bless you for a job well done.
