Police arrest mom, son for dealing in drugs

A 63-year-old mother and her 32-year-old son were arrested by members of the Ekurhuleni Drug Law Enforcement Unit on Friday, February 7, for dealing in illicit drugs.

EMPD media liaison officer Kobedi Mokheseng said the two were arrested following a tip-off by members of the community who reported suspicious illegal activities at a house in Morena Street, Extension 4, in Vosloorus.

When the police arrived unannounced at the house, they found 21 Ziplocs of khat and seven Ziplocs of dagga valued at R4 900.

The two were immediately arrested and taken to the Vosloorus SAPS where they were charged with possession and dealing in illicit substances. They are expected to appear at the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
