Young wrestlers collect medals at Kwavaluma Regional League

Eight young wrestlers from the Raptors Wrestling Club were selected to represent Eastern Gauteng at the recent Kwavaluma Regional League.

The event, held in Newcastle, saw wrestlers from Eastern Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga competing for top honours.

The Raptors’ wrestlers earned eight medals for the Easterns Gauteng team.

Some of the results were:

• Dewald de Wet won a gold medal.

• Jason Russel won a silver medal.

• Charnè Herman won a silver medal.

• Taniquè Jansen van Rensburg won a gold medal.

• Daniella de Wet won a gold medal.

• Tiaan Jansen van Rensburg won a gold medal.

• Luhan Herman won a bronze medal.

• Shannon Jansen van Rensburg won a gold medal.

The club were thrilled with the performance of the young wrestlers.
