Kathorus artist to wow music lovers

Hlengiwe Ndosi (33) is a born-again Christian, a keyboard player and an accomplished artist and songwriter.

Originally from Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal, Ndosi is the last born of four siblings – two sisters and two brothers.

Her love for music began at the tender age of eight, assuming the role of song leader even at the young age at a primary school.

“My father started noticing I had an ear for music in 2000. As a lover of music himself, he decided to buy me a keyboard,” she says.

Since those early years, she has never looked back and sought to achieve musically.

“We moved with my family to Johannesburg in 2010 and now reside in Leondale.”

Known by her stage name, ‘Uhle Ndosi’, she is revered as keyboard queen of note because of her heightened skill, especial in tent style.

She is God-fearing and works closely with Bishop Mavundla of the Hamba Vangeli Ministries based in Daveyton.

Apart from her ministry in many places, she gets an opportunity to perform with other artist including Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Sihle Mathunjwa, both of the Ncwandeni Christ Ambassador, and Londi Nxumalo of the Joyous Celebration fame, among others.

In 2017, she released her first album, Ingumlilo, with 11 worship tracks all composed by her. She also works with Dumsani Khanyile as a backing vocalist.

In her second album in 2018, she was nominated 11th for the SABC’s Crown Gospel Awards in the category of Best Tent songs.

For the current year, for her album Ungumlilo, she has been nominated for two categories in Ingoma Awards to be staged at Mogale City in August.

Ndosi is currently spending a lot of time in her studio ship-shaping her new album, Uhlehlile Umngcwabo Wakho, to be released soon. The pundits believe the album is set to have tongues wagging and to reach and win the hearts of song lovers of all ages.
