Brig Themba Denge happy with police officers, patrollers

The local police officers on patrol received a call from community patrollers at around 4.40am.

The Vosloorus SAPS arrested three male suspects on charges of dealing in dagga at Umdlebe Street in Extension 25 in Vosloorus on May 31.

Capt Soyaphi Manganyi and his crew of Const Thembinkosi Tshabalala and Const Tebogo Khumalo reacted to the call.

The local SAPS communications officer Capt Piet Rossouw said when the police officers arrived at the address, there were six suspects. Three suspects escaped arrest, but the other three were apprehended by the police.

“The police officers also seized 11 bags full of dagga with an estimated street value of R121 000.

The three arrested suspects were charged with dealing in dagga and have already appeared in the Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court on May 31. The case was remanded for further investigation and forensic analysis,” Rossouw said.

Vosloorus SAPS commander Brig Themba Denge was impressed with the hard work and dedication showed by the officers and the patrollers.

“I would like to congratulate the police and patrollers for their hard work,” said Denge.

Denge encouraged community members to join enlist as patrollers by contacting the local CPF office during office hours between 8am and 6pm.
