Good Friday celebrated in style

Pastor Elizabeth Snyder thanked Shoprite for their support and for the R5 000 donation towards towards the Lethukuthula Project.

As part of their Good Friday celebration on April 19, the Never Fail Truth Ministries based in Eden Park saw four of their pastors graduate. They have been on a six-month course since November last year.

Certificates of achievements were given to them on the day.

One of the pastors who caught the attention of Kathorus MAIL was Pastor Oupa Letsulo (34). He was born blind. Blind as he is, Letsulo has dedicated his life to God, and said he was attracted to the ministry of the church at a young age.

He attended a course he described as beneficial to his personal needs as a person with a disability.

Orientation and mobility practitioner from the South African Guide Dogs Association Sphamandla Thulo facilitated Letsulo’s course which taught him to be independent.

“He learnt how to walk without using a walking stick and to identify people around him.

“After attending the course, Letsulo can now move freely without needing any form of assistance or support,” Thulo told Kathorus MAIL.

The South African Bible Society donated a Bible to Letsulo which is designed for blind people.

Letsulo said he was excited about the gift.

“I am very happy. I grew up in the church since my childhood. I even told my pastor that one day I would like to become a pastor,” said Letsulo.

About the Bible gift, Letsulo, who wants to establish his own church, said he was happy that for the first time in many years he would be able to read the Bible by himself.

“I am more than ready to bring about change in my community and the world,” he said.

Several pastors attended the course to enable them to take care of disabled members of the community, and to minister to drug addicts.

Bishop Ephraim Titi said he was excited that the purpose of the day had been achieved which was to confer certificates to graduating pastors who will propagate the church’s initiative of Lethukuthula, a project that runs soup kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday.

“Our main objective was to celebrate the death and resurrection of our saviour Jesus Christ, and also celebrate what we have achieved so far as the church,” said Titi.

Titi presided over the graduation ceremony.
