Vosloorus SAPS cracks drug nest
Communications officer at Vosloorus Police Station Capt Piet Rossouw said on December 4 Vosloorus SAPS received a tip-off about a suspect dealing in drugs at Sotho Hostel in Vosloorus.
He said upon receiving the news, Col Solly Phago applied for a search warrant, which was obtained on the same day.
“On December 5, Phago and the Tracing Team went to the mentioned hostel and arrested a 35-year-old man for dealing in drugs,” said Rossouw.

He said the police seized the following illegal substances:
• 13 rocks (silver), worth R100 each
• 12 heroine/nyaope (blue), worth R50 each
• Five heroine/nyaope (green), worth R50 each
• 10 clean plastic rapped Cat tablets, worth R100 each
• 35 heroine/nyaope (brown), worth R50 each
• One 0.464kg plastic bag containing cannabis, worth R300
• 10 boxes of illegal cigarettes, worth R9 each
• Two packages of Rizzla cigarettes rapping paper
• 10 loose packs of Rizzla cigarettes rapping paper
• A licenced 9mm pistol
Station commander Brig Themba Denge applauded the swift response of the officer and members of the Tracing Team in apprehending the suspects.

“I am very glad one of the people destroying lives has been put behind the bars,” said Denge.
The suspect will appear in Vosloorus Magistrate’s Court soon.
