KAC athletes in Cross Country Challenge

Duo shine at National Cross-Country Challenge in Port Elizabeth.

Two athletes from Katlehong Athletics Club (KAC) took part in the recent National Cross-Country Challenge in Port Elizabeth on September 8.

The duo, Thuli Mbatha (40) and Smangaliso Mbatha (15), did not disappoint at the cross-country event.

Thuli participated at the 10km challenge at senior category while Smangaliso represented the club at 5km junior level.

Hloni Motloung the chairman of the club was excited.

“It is good for the club to have athletes from our club nominated at the provincial level. We are proud. It is a step in the right direction. Our efforts are yielding good results, and we are motivated by their achievements. I wish they can continue to represent our club with pride,” said Motloung.

Smangaliso finished in the top 10 in his age category while Thuli finished a little bit outside of the top 10.
