Peruse development programmes and budgets

The metro involves residents in IDP and budget drafts during consultative meetings.

The metro will hold public IDP and budget consultative meetings from April 11 to 19 with residents and various other stakeholders.

At the meeting, people will be given the opportunity to comment on the developmental programme of the metro as contained in the IDP for the next five years and the budget for the next three years.

The consultative meetings will be held in the 20 customer care areas in the metro at 6pm on scheduled days.

During the consultations, council will brief stakeholders on the proposed developmental programme and allow communities to comment on other proposals.

“IDP is a process through which municipalities prepare a strategic development plan which extends over a five-year period, which then guides and informs all planning, budgeting, management and decision-making processes in the municipality,” said Themba Gadebe, the spokesperson for the metro.

“The public consultative meetings follow the ward-based consultative process of the IDP and draft multi-year budget 2018/2019-2021 for residents’ and stakeholders’ inputs, which were undertaken in October 2017.”

The inputs were included in the draft IDP and budget, which will be tabled to the council for approval after the current consultations.

Katlehong residents belonging to Wards 40, 41, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 54 and 55 are invited to the consultative meeting to be held on April 11 at the Tsolo Hall (438 Tsolo Section). The MMC to head the meeting, which will start at 6pm, will be Clr Khosi Maso.

Mabaso will again host Katlehong residents belonging to Wards 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 101, 10 and 108 at the Palm Ridge Hall (9 Palm Ridge Road) on April 19 at 6pm.
