Ekurhuleni Business Initiative dons a new jacket; rebranded to EBN

The EBI, the brainchild of Chris van Biljon, has been rebranded as the Ekurhuleni Business Network (EBN) (Pty) Ltd, reports the Boksburg Advertiser.

The rebranding of the business network organisation, serving the interest of corporates and small, medium and micro-sized enterprises throughout the metro including Boksburg, was officially launched during a glitzy evening on October 30 at Carnival City.

Marius van Biljon is now the CEO of the EBN. However, his father is still on board to serve in a consultative capacity.

“We are ready to steer this network organisation into a bright future of golden opportunities and to take the EBN to greater heights,” said Marius.

“As part of our rebranding, we have streamlined our operations and we have certainly repositioned ourselves to move with the times.”

The EBN, which was launched as the EBI 16 years ago, has grown in leaps and bounds throughout the years.

According to Chris, it has always been his intention to keep pushing the envelope in order to put businesses on the map and to see businesses in the region grow and prosper.

“The need for such an organisation became evident because of the ever-changing business landscape and the constantly evolving business demands.

“Business people needed an organisation that creates the necessary networks to connect to local and national government as well as the business community on a regional level.

“Since 2001 we as the EBN have therefore played a key role in connecting hundreds of businesses with each other. The EBN has acted as a catalyst to drive the ambitions of big corporates while addressing the challenges faced by small and medium enterprises,” said Chris.

“Still today we are proud of being the voice of business within the metro as we remain in the forefront of all the latest changes, developments and shifts in the economic and political landscape.”

According to Marius, over the years, the EBN has held true to its vision to empower all enterprises so they thrive and achieve profitability and success within the economic and political culture.

“We live in difficult economic times, but all role-players in the industrial and business sector need to broaden their horizon and undergo paradigm shifts so they can be party to the manifold opportunities on offer for brave entrepreneurs,” said Marius.
