Local Idols contestant needs your vote
Ekurhuleni chief whip of council Clr Jongizizwe Dlabathi congratulated the outstanding performance of Thapelo Esau in qualifying for a top 10 spot in Idols South Africa season 13.
“The 20-year-old contestant from Vosloorus represents the aspirations of many millions of our young people in Ekurhuleni and the province of Gauteng,” Dlabathi said.
Dlabathi said Esau is not a quitter.
“We have noticed that many years ago Esau entered the competition in 2012 where she fell off during Theatre Week after she lost her voice.
“However, her determination is proof that South Africa is a country of all possibilities. She again this year stood in the queue with thousands of young people from across the country and now she’s in the top 10,” said Dlabathi.
Idols SA, a television show on M-Net, is based on the popular British show Pop Idol. The show is a contest to determine who the best young singer in South Africa is.
“As Esau enters into the next critical stage of the competition, we would like to urge the residents of Ekurhuleni and Kathorus MAIL readers to support her by ensuring that she goes all the way to the finals when the voting period begins, and ultimately win the competition,” said Dlabathi.
