Missing granddaughter — family fears for worst

Gogo Nombango Salafina Nkosi and her family are frantic with worry.

Her 32-year-old grand-daughter, Thandi Millicent Nkabinde, mother of two young children, aged four and six, has been missing since December 3, 2015, and not even her boyfriend with whom she was living in Katlehong at the time of her disappearance is able to shed any light about his girlfriend’s whereabouts.

“When we asked him about Thandi, the boyfriend, who is known as Sipho Maseko or Twala, told us he had last seen her on the morning of December 3, when he left for work.

Thandi’s worried grandmother Salafina Nkosi, told Kathorus MAIL that the family has been spending sleepless nights worrying about Thandi’s whereabouts.

“With all the murders of young women reported in the media recently, we are not sure whether Thandi is dead or alive,” explained the 67-year-old worried Gogo from Thokoza.

Gogo Nkosi said the recent femicides are worrying.

The missing woman’s younger sister, Talente Nkosi, aged 22, told Kathorus MAIL that the family has opened a “missing person” case with the police in Katlehong.

“She has not been found yet, and we are still searching. We are appealing to anyone who may know Thandi’s whereabouts to please get in touch with us, the family, on 072 144 2697, or report to the Katlehong SAPS,” said Talente.
