Roadblock conducted on the N3

Vosloorus SAPS on Friday, March 31 held a roadblock on the N3 between noon and 4pm.

Vosloorus SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Police, EMPD and Lesedi Traffic Police were part of the successful roadblock.

Gauteng Legislature Portfolio Committee and Department of Road Safety also attended and handed out road safety tips and mementoes to passengers in the vehicles stopped during the roadblock.

Communication official at Vosloorus Police Station, Capt Piet Rossouw, said the roadblock was a huge success.

“There were 409 people who were searched in total. And about 274 vehicles were stopped and searched. R9 200 worth of fines were issued,” said Rossouw.

Roosouw thanked all who were present during the roadblock for making it a success.

“We want to make sure that we make South Africa a crime free country,” he said.
