Police arrest man for car theft

Katlehong Police Station communications officer, Capt Mega Ndobe, confirmed the news.

A 32-year-old suspect has been arrested in Thokoza Extension 1 for being in possession of a suspected stolen BMW X1.

Katlehong police made the arrest on Monday, February 2 at a nearby car wash after receiving a tip-off from community members.

Katlehong Police Station communications officer, Capt Mega Ndobe, confirmed the news.

“The police arrested a 32-year-old suspect during the late hours of the afternoon on February 2. On their arrival at the car wash where the arrest was made, the police asked for the driver of the car. He came to them. The police discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen in Benoni in November last year. The suspect was then arrested and detained at Katlehong Police Station for being in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle,” Ndobe said.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
