It is sad that a unifying organisation such as the African National Congress which has carried the hopes and aspirations of millions of black and progressive white South Africans has become a shadow of its former self.

Greed and corruption have torn this great liberation movement apart as fake leaders climb on the band-wagon for a ride on the overflowing gravy train. Every Themba, Sipho and Mandlas want a piece of the cake without shedding any sweat to earn it.

What happened to the black unity that we saw bring down apartheid and render it unworkable? What happened to the unity that saw all progressive South Africans rally around each other as they took their fight to the corridors of apartheid power?

Greed and corruption have reduced us to weaklings who cannot think and do anything for themselves unless we are injected with the corrosive fluid of selfishness. We’ve become a nation with no backbone whose desire for survival is propelled by our inability to think and do things for ourselves.

Come on, African people and all peace-loving white South Africans, let us stand up together and fight against the tyranny that wants to see us fail as a nation.
