The incident took place on November 15 at 10.45 pm.
According to witness Nhlanhla Davis, she heard several gunshots and a female voice screaming. When she went to the scene, she saw the police officer lying on the car seat with no movement.
The witness phoned the police, and the paramedics declared the police officer dead on scene. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds, two on the face and one on the head.
Police spokesperson Col Brenda Muridili said the motive for the murder will be determined by an investigation.
