Suspect arrested in possession of stolen cars in Phumula Gardens

The two vehicles were reported stolen early in February in Alberton and Elsburg.

During their daily duties on February 23, members of the Germiston Flying Squad arrested a 25-year-old suspect in Phumula Gardens. The suspect was arrested for the possession of two stolen vehicles.

The officers were following a lead they received that indicated that suspicious vehicles were parked at a house in Lithemba Street. Police spotted the vehicles and investigated whether they were reported as stolen. The results came back positive indicating that two vehicles were stolen in Alberton and in Elsburg early in February.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Alberton SAPS. Lt Col Madimetja Kgole, unit commander of the Germiston Flying Squad, commended the squad members for the arrest. He gave a stern warning to criminals that police will give a zero tolerance approach in their fight against crime.
