Christmas came early for community of Kathorus

Ekupholeni Mental Health and Trauma Centre (EMHTC) is known for taking care of the needy people within the community, by means of small gestures.

This year was no different as a good Samaritan, Femi Laniyan from Standout Foundation, came on board to assist needy members.

Laniyan, with his company, decided to partner with EMHTC to assist more than 30 widows from Katlehong and Thokoza with Christmas groceries.

According to EMHTC executive director Zodwa Mzondo, this was done to try and fight the poverty and try to close the void left by the departed husbands.

The recipients included women from the age of 30 to 85 who truly appreciated the effort.

The groceries were handed over to the recipients on December 13 at the EMHTC premises in Maphanga Section, Katlehong.

One of the recipients, a 55-year-old lady, said Laniyan has really been a Godsend.

“We are very grateful for what he has done. May he also continue to do things for other people who may need his help. May God bless him and his company,” one of the recipients said.
