Caxton Radio launches at Emperors Palace

Caxton Radio is a hyper-local online streaming radio station playing on Caxton Local Media news websites across the City of Ekurhuleni.

Caxton Radio has found a new home at Emperors Palace.

You will now have the pleasure of listening to Caxton Radio live from our Emperors Palace studios and when you feel like it, you can pop in for a visit to share some good news with our DJs and listeners.

It was launched in March 2018 with the help and partnership of Paul Rotherham, Caxton Local Media and now it is streaming from 10 Caxton local news websites.

“Within the first 13 to 14 days since the launch on March 1, we have had about 98 000 streamers,” said Paul Rotherham, Caxton Radio station manager.

Those numbers have multiplied to an average of 500 000 a month.

Rotherham said the dream of having a live streaming radio station started eight years ago, and he thanks Caxton for helping him to make the dream a reality.

The content is lively, fun and energetic with music from the 80s, mid 90s and current.

The cake was baked by George’s Bread & Co.

The station focuses on sport, business, current-affairs, community success stories, music, local profiles, finances and much more.

Caxton Radio is here to connect Caxton local newspapers’ readers with numerous business owners and expose community events, social functions and other initiatives in Ekurhuleni.

“We are excited about the venture that we’ve entered into with Caxton Radio and look forward to hosting renowned radio personality, Paul Rotherham and other presenters at the satellite studio,” said Clive Tavener, Emperors Palace operations executive.
