Drugs valued at R58 000 seized in arrest of four

EMPD officers arrested four suspects in the early hours of last Thursday morning on drug-related charges.

During Operation Ke Molao conducted in the early hours of the morning last Thursday in Katlehong, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members arrested four suspects.

The suspects were nabbed in Phooko Section allegedly in possession of Kat and crystal methamphetamine valued at over R58 000 that was seized.

The Kat seized by EMPD members from the first suspect in Phooko Section, Katlehong, last Thursday.

The first suspect, a man aged 31, was arrested at 5am on Poole Street, when a block of Kat, valued at R2 000, was seized from him.

At the same address, a 39-year-old man found in possession of 15 ziplock bags of Kat and nine ziplock bags of crystal meth valued at R5 700 was also arrested.

At about 5.45am, two suspects, a man and a woman aged 29 and 30, were nabbed when Kat valued at R25 000 was found at their home.

Drugs worth R5 700 were seized from the second suspect arrested at the same address as the first suspect in Phooko Section, Katlehong.

All four suspects were detained at the Katlehong North Police Station and charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances.

They were expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court last Friday.
