People need jobs, not promises

The number of unemployed people in the townships is growing daily and this is leading to a rise in criminal activities.

It is becoming even more difficult, if not almost impossible, for people to find work and feed their families. And because of this, more people are resorting to crime and other illicit dealings to feed their families and meet their financial obligations.

The government is talking about creating a million jobs in 10 years’ time, but my question is: what will the unemployed eat and survive on with their families in the meantime? People cannot eat promises while waiting for another 10 years.

Navara to help create 1 200 jobs

When we voted for Mr Ramaphosa to be the new president of the country, we expected a lot of the wrongs under the previous administration of President Zuma to change for the better. Instead, everything is going from bad to worse.

For President Ramaphosa to expect people to wait for a decade before they can find work and feed their families is totally unrealistic and a bit far-fetched. We want to see more jobs being created in order to help fight the growing unemployment rate in the country.
