Valencia Kheswa, of Mabuya Park, is a woman of many talents.
KATLEHONG – Apart from being the guest praise singer and orator at the recent unveiling of Mma Bertha Gxowa’s memorial statue at the Ditsilane Cultural Village in August, where she thrilled the audience with her praise-singer and poetry, she is also a former nominee for the Art and Culture Community Development Award.
A founder of the Nomvesi Youth Organisation (NYO) in Katlehong, Valencia says the NYO was aimed at uplifting the community and providing guidance to the youth about the dangers of drug abuse and other anti-social behavior.

A former chorister and community activist, Valencia describes her choral interests as part of her social projects to uplift the needy in her community.
The NYO consists of 15 members, many of whom are unemployed.
Members use their various skills to empower each other with new skills.
