Six primary schools – Tshabalala, Thulisa, Cathula, Morojaneng, Thokoza and Phumelela – participated in the Stream B of this year’s prestigious event.

Tshabalala Primary School got position one in all the activities of the day – track and field events.

Weather conditions were favourable.

Tshabalala Primary School’s sports coordinator Bertha Mahlatji was excited about her school’s achievement.

“We worked very well as teachers, that is why we achieved this kind of success. This is not to take anything away from the dedication shown by our learners while preparing for the event,” said Mahlatji.

She also thanked school management for their support.

The winning schools took their success to the inter-stream meeting which is formed by schools from Stream A and Stream B. This event took place at the same venue on February 8.

Fifteen schools took part in this competition.

Of the Tshabalala Primary School 45 athletes who took part, 12 qualified for top slots and will compete in the Greater Germiston tournament scheduled for Germiston Stadium on February 18.
