UPDATE: Body of 2-year-old boy found cut into pieces at railway tracks under Rivett Carnett Street

Ex-boyfriend of mother wanted in connection with child's death.

A SUSPECT has been identified and is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of the two-year-old boy who was found on the train tracks under Rivett-Carnett Street.

According to Capt Buyilese Mvelase, spokesperson for Thokoza SAPS, it was alleged the boy was last seen with the ex-boyfriend of the mother of the child before his death.

Detectives investigating the matter on an inquest spoke to two friends, aged 29 and 30, of the ex-boyfriend. The two friends claimed to the police the suspect confirmed to them he had killed the boy.

According to Mvelase, the mother of the deceased told police she does not know why the suspect would do this as they had not had an argument.

Police are yet to make an arrest and have requested the assistance of the community.
