Man nabbed for drug possession

Primrose police arrested a 42-year-old man for drug possession in Primrose.

While on a routine patrol in Rietfontein Road, last Thursday, officers from the Primrose Police Station noticed a man running from a house towards a vehicle parked on the side of the road.

Suspicious, they stopped the man before he reached the vehicle and searched him.

“During the search police found a small plastic bag containing a white substance, they believed to be drugs, in the 42-year-old man’s front pocket,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“While being questioned by police the man confessed the substance was drugs.”

He was arrested and charged with possession of drugs.

The suspect has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
