Hardworking learners rewarded at Tshabalala Primary School

Local school awards hard-working learners.

As an effort to motivate learners to take their work seriously, teachers at Tshabalala Primary School in Katlehong organised an award-winning ceremony at the school premises on November 2.

“We also wanted to use the ceremony to recognise, among other things, their ability, effort and excellence in their school work, as well as to encourage a culture of healthy competition among the learners,” said Bertha Mahlatji, one of the event organisers.

She said such events will help the learners to cultivate appropriate behaviour, and also encourage them to take their school work seriously and to focus more on their chosen career paths.

Teachers worked hard to shortlist learners who performed well in each learning area.

“Everything went according to plan. I would like to thank the school governing body and the teachers for working as a team to pull such an event together.

“In future, I would like every learner to be present and to witness others being rewarded. I would also want to see teachers who do well also receive awards,” said Ngobese.
