ZATC launces a new branch in Thokoza

The Zalisidinga African Traditional Council (ZATC) launched a new branch at the Show House next to Phola Park Hall in Thokoza on March 10.

The purpose of the day was to introduce the new kingship executive structure to the community of Phola Park.

Mandla Ntshangase, ZATC general secretary, said they want the community to know that there is a ZATC kraal in Vosloorus Extention 28, under the leadership of king Godfrey Fanie.

“We understand that most of the people in these townships are from rural areas in different provinces and under the leadership of kings where they come from. If those people still want to be under kingship, they are more than welcome to join by their own free will. No one is forced,” said Ntshangase.

“The advantages of the kingship is that it will instill values in people who are under the kingship and they are going to learn about their tradition even if they stay in the township. They won’t be oppressed because they belong to certain political parties,” added Ntshangase.

“At the same time, we want to introduce the executive structure. The branch leader will be introduced soon,” Ntshangase told Kathorus MAIL.

The structure that was introduced consists of Fezeka Mqolombeni (chairperson), Bongiswa Mfazwe (secretary), Nozolile Bambiso (treasurer), Novuyisa Finini (organiser) and two additional members Novanile Ndaleni and Nothozamile Mhambi.

The launch of the branch and the introduction of the kingship structure was done in the presence of Goodwill Nyabaza, the chairperson of the National Traditional Advisory Council (NTAC).
