Thelle Mogoerane Hospital staff residence handed over

Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital residence was handed over to staff on November 6.

The official handover was done by Gauteng MEC for infrastructure development Jacob Mamabolo MEC for health, Dr Gwen Ramokgopa.

The facility that cost around R250-million consists of 300 student accommodation rooms, 50 intern rooms for bachelors and 20 two-bedroom units.

It has a crèche accommodating 50 children of different age groups, a 250-seater multi-purpose hall and a training centre.

This state-of-the-art infrastructure has one unit for disabled people in every accommodation block.

This facility is adaptable to environmental change, has a good drainage system which can cope during rainy seasons.

Dr Nomonde Mqhayi-Mbambo said during the construction of this facility 679 local people benefitted in terms of employment opportunities.

“We urge the staff and community to look after this facility since it’s an investment for now and future generations,” said Dr Mqhayi-Mbambo.
