TV weekly must watch

We’ve rounded up three great shows you should keep an eye out for this week.

Start with a medical drama based on a hit podcast and inspired by the terrifying true story of a doctor. Then watch a thrilling crime mystery series based on a novel that will have you on the edge of your seat. Or get ready for a comedy-drama about a crash-landed alien who takes on the identity of a doctor.

Young, charismatic and ostensibly brilliant, Dr Duntsch was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and were left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, a neurosurgeon and vascular surgeon as well as a Dallas prosecutor set out to stop him. Watch Dr. Death Tuesdays at 10:30pm on M-Net, channel 101.

The Chestnut Man is set in a quiet suburb of Copenhagen, where the police make a terrible discovery one blustery October morning. A young woman is found brutally murdered in a playground and one of her hands is missing. Next to her lies a small man-made of chestnuts. The ambitious young detective Naia Thulin is assigned to the case, along with her new partner, Mark Hess. They soon discover a mysterious piece of evidence on the chestnut man – evidence connecting it to a girl who went missing a year earlier and was presumed dead – the daughter of a politician. The Chestnut Man will start September 29 on Netflix.

An alien crashes on Earth and hides in a remote Colorado mountain town. After assuming the identity of the town doctor, his nefarious mission is threatened when he realises one of the townspeople, a nine-year-old boy, can see his true alien form. Catch Resident Alien from October 1st on Showmax.
